The handle is made from gorgeous wood and the base is made from stainless steel. It's perfectly balanced but not so weighty as to be cumbersome. In order to get the best from this tamper you'll need to pair it with the right basket. The base of the device is 58.4mm across and so it'll extend right up to the inner wall of your filter.
